Emerging reports suggest that insurgent group, Boko Haram set a village in Borno state on fire after stealing food stuffs from it. According to a local vigilante who spoke to Sahara Reporters, the terrorist group stormed the remote village of Ashir along Biu road in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State around 8:30pm on Wednesday and set it ablaze after stealing food stuffs from it.
”They came on motorcycles around 8:30pm. As a local vigilante on duty saw them he quickly alerted the villagers. Everyone fled into the nearby bushes.”
“They went away with two vehicles, some bicycles, goats, chickens as well as all the foodstuffs including salt. But we thank Allah nobody was killed. Only a few people sustained small injuries,” Abubakar Jojori told SaharaReporters by phone.
