The Nigerian duo of Victor Osimhen and Taiwo Awoniyi are the big names listed in coach Samson Siasia’s final 21 man squad for the U-23 African Cup of Nations. The U-17 star was drafted into the squad immediately after the world cup to replace Isaac Success of Granada who his club refused to release ahead of the games.
The team will leave Gambia and head to Senegal for the tournament which set to commence on the 28th of November.
The winner, first and second runner up teams will qualify for the Olympic games next year. Nigeria is drawn in group B alongside Egypt, Algeria and Mali.
